To ensure a safe, respectful, and positive training environment for everyone, please follow these rules:
On the mat
Always bow or greet when stepping on and off the mat.
Wear a clean Gil Jitsu Gi or No-Gi uniform at every class.
No jewelry, watches, metal hair clips, or piercings during training.
Keep fingernails and toenails short and clean.
No shoes on the mat – wear flip-flops when off the mat.
Bring a towel and stay clean and hygienic.
Attitude & Behavior
Show respect to instructors, teammates, and visitors.
No aggressive behavior or bad attitude – we train to learn, not to win.
Help lower belts and create a supportive team spirit.
Tap early, tap often – your safety and your partner’s safety come first.
Personal Belongings
Store your bags and gear on the designated shelves.
Do not leave clothes or items lying around the academy.
The academy is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
For Kids & Parents
Parents are welcome to watch, but must remain quiet and off the mat.
Encourage your child, but let instructors lead the class.
Children must wait quietly before class and behave respectfully in all areas.
